mySkills at the University of Sheffield
All University of Sheffield students have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and attributes throughout their academic studies, work experiences and extracurricular activities. The Sheffield Graduate Attributes highlight some of the main skills and attributes that our students can develop.
To help students recognise their skills development and be able to articulate their strengths to others, including potential employers, the University of Sheffield has created mySkills, a unique online personal development tool.

How mySkills works
mySkills is freely available to all University of Sheffield students, allowing them to assess their current skill levels, set goals for academic and personal development, and use in-built resources to develop their skills. They also use it to reflect on their experiences, both within and outside their studies, and record these within mySkills to develop a unique portfolio that will be invaluable in creating CVs and strengthening job applications and interview performance.
Graduate access to mySkills
To support our students as they transition into life after their studies, mySkills continues to be accessible after graduation.
If you are a University of Sheffield graduate, make sure you are registered as a graduate with Career Connect to maintain access to mySkills.
